Riding Her Tiger

By DorisO’Connor

Paranormal BDSM Romance

Sex: 5

Plot: 3

Overall Enjoyment: 4

Club Ink, 1

Can one night change your life forever?

Estellehas been lusting after her kinky bossNathanfor ages, but how do you snare a much older Dom? You enlist the help of the internet.

Matched to exploration facilitator Ink,Estelleexplores her submissive fantasies to the full. When an online sex turns into a real life ménage, will a case of mistaken identity ruin her chances with Nathan?

On the other hand, will the shifter claim his mate?

Be Warned: BDSM, anal sex, ménage sex, multiple partners.

Estelle’s best friend Neeve signed her up on a BDSM dating site without her knowledge then set up an online meeting for her. This meeting was to take place within five minutes of Neeve telling her what she did. Would you stay in the chat room and wait or would you delete your profile and run for the hills? Estelle stayed, chatted and began her training.

(Open letter to Neeve,Estelle’s Best friend)

Dear Neeve,

If you ever think to sign up a “dear friend” again without giving them at least 24 hours heads up. You will be stomped.

Sincerely,

Someone this has happened to, and it didn’t end well.

Even though some of the more interesting people in this story weren’t lead characters, all were passionate and entertaining. The complex emotion between the twins, Jordan “Ink” and Nathan, seems beyond normal. However, I think perhaps it’s a bit of too high strung tigers and too much play time. Jordan is out to screw everything he can, and Nathan, well he just wants to find Ms. Right, not Ms. Right-Now.

Now having said I liked the book, I am baffled about something. Estelle seemed to know that Nathan was a shifter of some sort. How she managed to figure that out with only having seen Ink’s teeth, I don’t know. It would have been better to add another scene or something where he reveals it to her. The farfetched logic doesn’t work with me.

Review: The Probation by Lily Mia

The Probation

By Lily Mia

Erotic Short Story

Overall enjoyment: 4

Sex: 4

Sam is an aspiring recruitment agent working for a small firm in London. She is a young professional, articulate, confident, and very attractive. Her aim is to get some experience under her belt and move on to a bigger firm. Little does she know that she is likely to get more than she bargained for, under her belt and in other areas that have nothing to do with business!
Having fallen behind on her targets and with time running out Sam has to face her probation…

Having been a professional in an industrial and office setting, I have loads of work type fantasies. Some of these are even romantic, others not so much (involves the death of a much hated co-worker, body never to be found).   The Probation has to embody one of my favorite work place fantasies.

Would you have sex with your boss if you job depended on it? Well, let us just say yes he is hot, yes, he is married, and he isn’t looking to make a relationship out of this brief interlude. It will be business as usual and no one will EVER know. Interested now? Well Sam decided to take the chance. And Tom, her boss, didn’t disappoint her either.

I liked the story; I wish there could have been just a little more emotional draw between the two characters. Lust can still be an explosive tool. I believe a person can still have awesome sex without the commitment that comes after.

Review: 50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James

In review on May 5, 2012 at 11:57 am

So, I broke down and read 50 Shades of Grey. I have mixed feelings about it. While I recognize that it is a great feat for the romance industry, I also think there are much better works out there that would interest the public.

I can not completely say I without a doubt I  hated it, but I will say this. Next time, get a few really good critique partners that have been published in the erotic genre to give you a feel of what you want your reader to feel from the characters. I was rather confused on the two main characters like or dislike of each other. The pain and angst often got in the way. It was a big case of  “The Man doth protest to much”. And then to have such an ending. WTH is wrong with the girl that she has to whine about everything. ME ME ME! That is all I heard from that character in my head. Somethings I have an instant dislike to characters when I read and I think it happened here big time.

I feel that 50SG was not the best representation of Erotic romance or erotica and makes the genre seem very Twilight-ish. Other authors like:

  • Deanna Wadworth
  • Lora Leigh
  • Joey W. Hill
  • Marteeka Karland
  • Jayne Rylon
  • N.J. Walters
  • Lexxie Couper
  • Nikki Duncan
  • Shyla Colt
  • Zenobia Renquist
  • Simon Lowrie
  • Damon Suede
  • Maya Banks
  • Sierra Cartwright
  • Brownyn Green

And that is just to name a few off the top of my head. If this type of story interest you then you must have an open mind to other authors. There are literally hundreds of new to you authors waiting for you to buy their books. There are even dozens of small print or online publishing companies that have dozens of FREE ebooks from these authors. All you have to do is try them. They even have heat indexes for you level of shyness. Even when reading some people still are not comfortable with some explicit words. I respect that.

With that being said, I am very honored to have read the book that was published by an unknown author who had to luck to find a niche and make it big. I wish you good journey in your trek in to writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next.

“It’s vampire politics as usual around the town of Bon Temps, but never before have they hit so close to Sookie’s heart…. Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on that there are things she’d rather not know. And now that she’s an adult, she also realizes that some things she knows about, she’d rather not see–like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one. There’s a thing or two she’d like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet–Felipe de Castro, the vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town. It’s the worst possible time for a human body to show up in Eric’s front yard–especially the body of the woman whose blood he just drank. Now it’s up to Sookie and Bill, the official Area Five investigator, to solve the murder. Sookie thinks that, at least this time, the dead girl’s fate has nothing to do with her. But she is wrong. She has an enemy, one far more devious than she would ever suspect, who’s set out to make Sookie’s world comecrashing down”–
