Blurb: A psychic who’s afraid of ghosts and a millionaire with a haunted past and a hidden power find that only love can catch a spirit. With love, all things are possible—especially if you need to catch a Spirit.

Psychic Allison Dupuis has a soft spot for Logan Mitchell, even though she’s never met him. All it takes is one encounter for the millionaire’s true emotions to slip through Allison’s shields, and she is intrigued. He needs her help, but Allison soon discovers that the kind of help Logan needs is the kind she isn’t willing to give. Logan has a ghost, and Allison doesn’t work with spirits anymore.

But the ghost is the least of Logan’s problems. Born an empath, Logan is constantly barraged with human emotions. And while his talent has come in handy in the business world, it’s about to drive him insane. Literally. Logan has OCD, and his ability triggers unbearable attacks that have him counting and cleaning until he collapses from exhaustion.

Sex and money. That’s all anyone wants from him. Even worse, he’s plagued with recurring visions of his future wife’s death, so Logan has spent his entire life avoiding love. He’s given up hope of ever having a normal life, until he meets Allison. She’s everything he’s ever dreamed of, and now he has to decide if loving her is worth risking her life.

If she’ll even have him. Allison’s lost too much already — her mother to cancer, her father to suicide. But, Logan is so charming and so real, she can’t help but fall for him. Now she has to overcome her fear of commitment…and ghosts…or face spending the rest of her life alone.

Excerpt:

She sensed them as they drew closer to her—many different spirits, their energy buzzing on varying frequencies.

“One at a time, guys. Please.” she said. But they didn’t listen. These were the spirits of the mentally ill, after all. Taking turns wasn’t their concern, and they all rushed her. She felt their presence closing in on her like an avalanche, and she was consumed. Every mental illness imaginable was thrown into her psyche as she tightened her grip on Gage’s hand and slumped down in her chair.

“Allison! Allison, are you okay?” Gage’s voice was a distant echo as she fought to hold on to herself. She was slipping. Sliding into the depths of despair and the spirits were pulling her down.

“It’s… No… There’s a light… You need to… You need to go to it.” She tried to help the spirits cross over, but they wouldn’t listen. There were too many. Twenty at least, and they were so consumed by their own illnesses they thought of nothing else. Paranoia, depression, anxiety. Allison felt it all, and it was going to kill her. The pressure. So hard to breath. Her hands cradled her head as the migraine overtook her. Sharp, pounding pain had her crumpled on the floor as she drew her knees into her chest and rocked back and forth.

“Make it stop. Please, just make it stop.” She was paralyzed. Frozen by the anguish of the tortured souls that forced themselves upon her. Hot tears streamed down her face and blood trickled from her nose. She gasped for air as she heard a faint voice call, “Get her out of here!”

About The Author:

Carrie Pulkinen has always been fascinated with the paranormal. Of course, when you grow up next door to a cemetery, the dead (and the undead) are hard to ignore. Pair that with her passion for writing and her father’s insatiable love for monster movies, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for an exciting storyteller.

When she’s not writing stories of amazing sex with devilishly handsome men, Carrie likes to read, take pictures, and play with her kids. She also enjoys hearing from her readers, who can write to her at carrie.pulkinen@hotmail.com.

If you enjoyed this story, Sweet Release, her first published work is also available from Breathless Press.

Year of the Billionaire

by KC Falls

Adult Romance

Heat Lvl: 3

BLURB:

He looked like the kind of man even my mother would call smokin’ hot. Eventually, she did.

He felt like the kind of man who didn’t just break the rules, but made new ones. He led and it was follow or get out of the way.

Why did a billionaire with a voice like liquid silk and a face like a bad angel take a second look at a girl in no-name jeans, with a fifteen-dollar haircut and a beat up car she calls her “Eep” because the ‘J’ fell off long ago?

I didn’t want to know why and when I thought I knew I didn’t want to admit it. By the time I found his secret, it was already too late. His passion had me hooked like a drug. It didn’t hurt that he pulled the people I love the most out of harm’s way. A girl can get used to a knight in shining armor even when the armor has some very large dents in it.

*********

This is part one of a series. Part 2 of the Year of the Billionaire is “Taking His Risk” and is available now on Kindle. Part 3 of Year of the Billionaire is “Keeping His Promise” and is also available exclusively on Amazon. These are adult romance intended only for readers over 18 due to explicit sexual content.

Excerpt: or Here

“Welcome to Brian’s loft o’ porn,” Tristan greeted me. He was leaning back against a pile of pillows and patted the carpet beside him, inviting me to sit down. “In this room, there is a library of smut so vast that it would take more than a lifetime to view it all.”
“Oh? Really?” What could I say to that?
“He’s a collector. Little men often have issues, you know.”
“What about big men? Do big men have issues?”
“None worth discussing tonight.”
Tristan pulled my face toward his and claimed my mouth with a crushing kiss. There was an element of something dark in the way he took me into his arms. He held me hard against him and breathed into my hair.
“It’s time now, Raina. I want to fuck you now…here.”
“Tristan, I think there are things we need to talk about first.”
He pulled me on top of him and roughly positioned me so that I couldn’t help but feel his erection against my groin. My traitorous body reacted immediately.
“Raina, there’s only one kind of communication I’m interested in tonight. If that’s not why you came up here, maybe we should go downstairs for some milk and cookies with the rest of the children.” There was an edge to his words. It was the same edge I had heard from the stage when I corrected him. It was the hiss that I had heard when he held my face in his at practice that first night when I went back to his house.
If I backed away I’d probably never know what it was like to have Tristan King’s cock inside me. He made it clear that it was going to be his way or not at all. I wasn’t going to get any answers ‘before’. The only kind of knowledge I had to look forward to at that moment was the carnal kind.
His eyes had narrowed slightly and his nostrils flared. He wasn’t going to try to convince me. He had made it a challenge. It was my choice, but the stakes were high. I leaned down toward his face as if I was going to kiss him. Instead I put my mouth very close to his ear and ground my pelvis into his.
“No cookies…just milk,” I whispered.

BIO:

K.C. Falls is a native of New York who traded the Big Apple for Big Sky country. Her Montana ranch is home to a menagerie of animals including one human male she shamelessly uses for inspiration.

Her tales are sharp-edged stories with strong sexy heroes and the women they can’t resist.

K.C. finds time to feed the chickens, study Native Americana (she’s part Cheyenne–that’s what the ‘C’ stands for) and cook incredible food because there isn’t a restaurant around for many miles. She writes in between bites.

K.C. loves to hear from readers, so please feel free to follow her on any of her social media channels. And don’t forget to check out her website–kcfalls.com. FaceBook. You can sign up to her mailing list there, to hear about new releases and any promotional sales coming up. You can also find some back story for her current and future works.

Tired of finding crap books on Amazon?

In General on May 18, 2013 at 12:37 pm

bookreadingI have to tell you so am I. Yes I run an on again and off again review spot. But since, the book that shall never be named, became overly popular it is hard to find quality reads. My guess is that every housewife and generation Twilighters feel they can write their dreams too.

Amazon has been bombarded with serial books and people are now complaining about the length of a novel.

General practice says what type of book for what ever length.

Short Stories <7,500 words

Novellas 7,500 <30,000 words

Novels 30,000<100,000 words

super novels 100,000+ words

Over on Selena Kitts Blog she talks about great ways to spot a good read. So you won’t be duped in to buying crappy books on the site that shall not be named again. here is the link or you can click on Selena’s link above. http://selenakitt.com/blog/index.php/2013/05/13/survival-tips-for-the-pornocalypse-2-erotica-readers-unite/

Pride 2013 Events Toledo & Columbus, OH

Attention Authors: Need to get your name out there in the hands of thousands of people?

Stonewall Columbus Pride on June 22nd (http://www.columbuspride.org/) and the Toledo Pride Festival on Aug 24th (http://toledopride.com) are upon us again this year.

This year Rainbow Romance Writers (http://www.rainbowromancewriters.com/ )and Naughty Edition Reviews (http://naughtyeditionreviews.com/) have teamed up to get booths at both events and spread some promo love, raise awareness about LGBT fiction and have some fun. Several top publishers and book sellers have already generously donated money, gift cards and free books to our event.

Now we are looking for authors to join in on this great opportunity!

Pride events like these promote our community, area events, organizations, programs and businesses that support the LGBTQA community. Last year Columbus saw over 200,000 attendees and in Toledo there were about 15000. This year we are expecting more! There is no better way to get your name in front of so many potential fans than attending a Pride event.

stonewall-columbus-pride-2013-logoDo you live in or near Ohio?

If you do we would be love to have you attend the event and promote your writing at our booth.

Author participation costs: $50 for each festival

Why would you want to spend money to go to a Pride festival and work a booth?

Because the individual promotion opportunity is priceless. Authors will have the opportunity to meet fans, sign swag and sell books. Your swag will be prominently displayed. Our booth in Toledo last year was colorful, fun and drew a lot of attention.

This year we are giving away FOUR FREE E-READERS and authors will be able to pre-upload one of their books onto the devices, getting your books directly into the hands of a new reader. Everyone loves freebies and our booth will have great swag bags for attendees. We are hoping with generous promo donations, this year we will be able to fill at least 700 swag bags and 10 giveaway baskets. 100 of these bags we would like to make YA.

Last year we were like mini celebrities in the eyes of many people and not only did we all see an increase in book sales afterward, but we had an opportunity to let readers know how much great LGBT fiction is really available. And we had FUN!

Main-ImageWhat kinds of promo do we need?

Books! Books! Books!
or
Money and More Books

Any new and gently used LGBT books, including YA would be gladly appreciated. We are going to have a prize spinning wheel and lucky winners will take home books, one of four already donated e-readers, gift certificates or one of the 700 goodie bags we are looking to fill. No one will go home empty handed!!

**We cannot accept paper swag at this time**

There is one exception. Postcards with free or discounted download codes for ebooks or if it is a discount coupon. We would LOVE these types of donations. If you have a free story you want to promote, print up some postcards with your logo and the download link. Some authors even uploaded their stories onto CDs and we put those into the swag bags. Make sure you check with your publisher before you do any of this though! 🙂

Please, no bookmarks, cover flats and postcards. The point of the event is to get LGBT books both print and electronic into the hands of readers. At large public events paper swag without a freebie/coupon will get overlooked or thrown away therefore is a waste of the author’s money. We want our bags to be considered valuable enough that people take them home and go thru them. A bag full of bookmarks sadly will be tossed into the nearest garbage can. This may sound harsh, but at a festival with a beer garden, 100K people celebrating and wandering around, only good swag bags will be kept by attendees.
Swag can be anything from the wild and untamed (scented condoms, glow sticks, penis shaped lollipops) to the tame (stickers, pens, chap-sticks, buttons, notepads) Large items such as t-shirts, mugs, etc we will put in gift baskets. If you want to send your own gift basket, that too is very okay.

We will be filling 500 goodie bags for Stonewall Columbus June 22, and 250 goodie bags for Toledo Pride Aug 24. And donations from 10-700 items will be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to help with the funding please donate even a little goes a long way. Plus, with any donation you get a day or more of promotion on our June Pride BlogFest.

Contact Deanna for mailing address. deanna.wadsworth@gmail.com with the words OHIO PRIDE PROMO in the subject line.
What is the deadline for mailing swag?

For Columbus, we must have all promo by June 8, 2013.

For Toledo we must have all promo by August 10, 2013

Our main goal is to get LGBT books into the hands of readers. We know not many authors can afford to travel and get themselves out there at conferences etc so this is a great promotional venue for new and established authors.

If you or someone you know might be interested please email either of us at Rayna@naughtyeditionreviews.com or deanna.wadsworth@gmail.com
